THE NEXT CHAPTER FOR EDUCATION AT THE VILLAGE OF EDEN

You could say that the Village of Eden is graduating to our next level of ministry. In February of 2025, we will launch a brand new high school in Uganda. To say that we are thrilled about this new chapter in our ministry would be an understatement. Since the start of the Village of Eden Primary School in 2014, we have seen a significant transformation in the lives of the children who attend there. The level of learning that takes place on campus every day is so exciting but even more encouraging is the spiritual growth we have seen in families in our community.

Starting a high school is the next phase in our master plan. The purpose of the high school will be to prepare students to make an impact in the community through their education, but more importantly because of their relationship with Jesus Christ. We value a quality Christian education, so opening a high school is the natural progression of assisting our students as they grow to the next level.

We need your help as we turn the page and begin this exciting chapter. Through faithful friends of the ministry, the Lord has provided a matching gift of $100,000. Every dollar you give toward the high school through the end of the year will be matched! Please join us in this effort as we launch our students into the Village of Eden Christian Secondary School in just a few months. Also, be in prayer for our new teachers, staff, and students who will be on campus in just a few weeks.

GRADUATING SPONSORED CHILDREN INTO A LIFETIME OF SUCCESS

We have seen the impact Child Sponsorship can have on students in Uganda. After starting the program in 2006 with just a small group of children, we began to realize the great need for education and Biblical discipleship in our local community. More and more children were added, and now, almost 20 years later, we are seeing adults who have graduated through the Child Sponsorship Program who are living as ambassadors for Christ in their communities. The stories of these four former sponsored children, now young adults, below are the reason we are trusting the Lord and moving forward with building the Village of Eden Christian Secondary School.

BEATRACE

Beatrace is the current Head Teacher of the Village of Eden Primary School. While she loves working with the teachers and students, her heart is for high school education. Soon, with the opening of the Village of Eden Christian Secondary School, she will step into a new role as Head Teacher there! Beatrace worked hard through her time in Child Sponsorship to become a teacher who loves her students well.

ISAAC

Isaac is the supervisor of Bible teachers for our Child Sponsorship Program. He coordinates with local schools to schedule weekly discipleship, trains our Bible teachers, and plans student camps. Through his own time in our Child Sponsorship program, Isaac completed high school, attended Word of Life Africa Bible Institute, and continued on to college to achieve his degree in social work. Isaac is passionate to invest deeply in the lives of our students, and his kind, organized, and calm personality allows him to lead our Bible teachers in unity.

JUSTINE

Justine joined Child Sponsorship in 2011 when she was 16 years old. She was an orphan and had 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Justine was a faithful student and completed her schooling to become a pre-school teacher. Now she serves at the Village of Eden Church leading the youth, as well as leading worship on Sundays. She has a beautiful heart, but even more beautiful is the joy on her face when she sings to the Lord!

RODGERS

Rodgers was 17 years old when he joined the sponsorship program. Without a sponsor, he would not have been able to finish high school due to the school fees in Uganda. Throughout his time in Child Sponsorship, Rodgers studied hard, attended Word of Life Africa Bible Institute, and became an accountant after college. He now works at the Village of Eden, specifically in accounting for Child Sponsorship! He also serves as a drummer on Sunday mornings and as a counselor for Student Camps throughout the year.
