STORIES

Love Is A Gift

"My wife, Morgan and I were so blessed to be able to go on a mission trip to Uganda, Africa, together. We were able to serve alongside one another with our team from Northside Baptist Church. To be able to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the people in Eastern Uganda was incredible. I personally love going hut-to-hut to preach the Gospel to people who desperately need Jesus Christ. It was also an amazing experience to see Morgan work in the clinic, being able to see people physically healed. Dr. Brenda does an amazing job of working all the details out and providing a wonderful workspace for people to have success in the medical part of missions.

"Morgan and I were also able to meet our sponsor child while we were there. It was incredible to see where she and her family lived as well as preaching the Gospel to her and her family. Since we started sponsoring a child, we have seen God work in our own lives in such an amazing way. I am so thankful to be able to see the child we support and see how God is working through us. I cannot express enough how much we were taught while on this trip and look forward to the many days ahead that we have to serve Jesus Christ."

- Josh Foster, Missions Pastor at Northside Baptist Church

When you open your heart to a child, you can make a difference in their life that will last for generations. Helping Hands Foreign Missions strives to make a difference in the lives of the children of Uganda and Brazil through Child Sponsorship. Children in our sponsorship program come from a myriad of religious backgrounds such as Islam, Christianity, and a number of indigenous religions. Child Sponsorship allows us to enter the homes and schools of these children and share with them the Gospel of Jesus Christ while simultaneously meeting physical needs. Our program emphasizes the importance of discipleship and Biblical values as well as making the most of every opportunity to teach the Good News.

Malnutrition, unclean living environments, and poverty are common trials children in our Sponsorship Program face on a daily basis. Sponsorship provides them with a daily meal, which for some may be the only food available for the day. Our gifting program allows sponsors an even greater opportunity to impact their child's daily life. Meeting physical needs with gifts—such as food, clothing, and mosquito nets—can open the door for a child to hear about eternal hope in Jesus.

Children living in areas of poverty are often denied the opportunity to attend school. Sponsorship provides a pathway for children to be involved in their communities and learn the importance of education. It also opens the door for us to build relationships with local schools and share the Gospel, allowing even children who are not part of the program to hear about Jesus.
